Foreign sales, pre-cleared
Why it matters: Foreign Military Sales (FMS) are government-to-government sales to allies. Through the "FMS Fast Lane," partner nations order pre-cleared, standard-configuration drone and counter-drone systems through pre-established contracts. The Army says this compressed case timelines "from months down to days."29
- Get listed Be on the Army UAS Marketplace or the counter-UAS marketplace.
- Standard config Offer a fixed, exportable configuration.
- Pre-clear The Army completes technology transfer, marketing license and foreign disclosure steps up front.
- Allies order Auto-generated offer letters and pre-negotiated contracts.
- Who is in Partners across the Indo-Pacific, European, Central and American commands have joined the marketplace framework, and the list keeps growing. Early members include the UK, France, Japan, Poland, Canada and South Korea.29
- The catch Fast Lane runs through the marketplaces, so the marketplace listing comes first. Export rules still apply: classify each product under the U.S. Munitions List or the Export Administration Regulations.68,69,87
What this means for you
Allied demand now flows through the same marketplaces as Army demand. One listing can reach both, if the configuration is exportable.
Next step: When you onboard to a marketplace, ask whether your configuration can be pre-cleared for FMS Fast Lane.
